All educational systems, particularly the health system and the cause of Somaliland’s civil war, known as the estimated population of 3.5 million, have been adversely affected, and no specialist training is given at the moment. Due to inadequate training, only five hundred practitioners and sixteen specialists serve in Somaliland. As a result of the inter-university business alliance, in Somaliland, specialist training will be given to all major branches including general surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, family medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, public health and psychiatry. The assistant doctors involved in this training will have a chance to receive education in Turkey as well as in their home country.
It is the most important aim of the protocols signed by assistant doctors who are educated in cooperation with specialist education in order to meet the needs of competent physicians by serving Somaliland which is inadequate after the expert system.
